| Could anyone please advise how it should be handled if alcohol was a part of the company holiday party? There has been requests from our employees saying that they should be able to drink alcohol at company holiday party. Any advise would be appreciated. Thank you.

| Hi, this issue has been a touchy one in our company as well. Unfortunately, not all employees use the best judgement regarding drinking and driving. If we "supply" the alcohol during the party then I've been told that we would be responsible if there was an accident. So in the past years we've limited it to a 2 drink maximum per guest, and even just had a bottle of red and white wine per table of (about 2 glasses per person). You can also send out a memo prior to the event explaining that it is expected that everyone act responsibly regarding drinking. If employees are purchasing their own drinks, it may behoove you to have taxi vouchers or alternative modes of transportation, for those who don't seem to know their limits, should the need arise.
